It may seem a cliché, but the children really do grow older without you realising. Actually, so do we all! A family portrait captures not only the appearance of the family at a specific time but the character of it too. I like to meet the family - and please don't worry if the kids are riotous. To be honest, getting a sense of the children's personalities helps me achieve the best photographs. As a family man I entirely understand that things can be a little chaotic.

People always told me that becoming a parent would be a life-changing experience, but nothing prepared me for the wonderful addition to our lives that having children brought. Everything rushes by in such a whirl that I am so pleased that I have the photographs I have taken of our daughter and son to treasure and remind me of how they have changed and developed.
